ABOUT FLOUR & FERN

Grain limited, taste unlimited.
Producing unnoticeably gluten free products for the local community (and hopefully beyond that soon!).

Flour & Fern started long ago as a little girl’s dream to own a bakery.
That dream began to take shape as a home bakery serving local Farmer’s Markets in 2019.
Then it turned into a lovely little bakery inside Mac Mkt in 2020 (right before the pandemic hit). Thanks to all the great customers that dream became a reality! After a year and a half I realized it was not what I wanted to spend the rest of my life doing, so we closed down and now on to the next chapter…
a cookbook! (and possibly a food blog.)

Flour & Fern is built on the idea that gluten free doesn’t mean it can’t taste and look good. I strive to produce products that both look and taste as good as any other pastry, bread, or baked good out there. All products are made with gluten free ingredients (and many products are also dairy free or vegan as well). While the ingredients may be limited, the flavor, texture, and presentation certainly does not have to be. You won’t be able to tell it’s gluten free!

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO VOTED!

I am so honored to have won Best Bakery of McMinnville 2020.

  1. So far I think I have tried almost everything and can say without a doubt it’s all so yummy! The brownies have so much chocolate in them you would never think you were eating something that was good for your digestive system. I Highly recommend these baked goods.

  2. Afternoon. I was wondering if you sell any of your gf, v goodies at any stores near Sherwood? Your choc oat type bar was to die for. Thank you for having something delicious šŸ˜‹

    1. Hello Ame,
Thank you! The Carmelitas are one of my favorites, and seem to be quite popular. Unfortunately right now you can only find my products at the McMinnville Farmers Market on Thursdays and the Salem Saturday Market. Otherwise, we can set up special order if you have a specific request. I’d be happy to work something out with you. šŸ™‚ I am hoping to get my products into local coffee shops and more in the area, but it’s hard to predict the exact timing of that at the moment, and it may be several months. Thank you for asking.

  3. I think I may need to go into rehab this winter if I can’t continue to get my fix of your PERFECT gluten free pastries!!!

    1. Jeff, thank you so much for your compliment! I’m sorry I cannot have pastries readily available for you all the time. You are more than welcome to place a special order any time. And please keep an eye out as I may be doing a pop up soon and there are some exciting things just around the corner for Flour & Fern. I am super excited to share about it once it’s more official. šŸ™‚

  4. So let me understand this as I am a celiac. You use all gluten free ingredients and the equipment you use is dedicated gluten free the only thing that keeps you from declaring yourself celiac safe is that there is another shop close by that does use gluten. If that is the case I am coming by, at my own risk LOL, because I think the odds of cross contamination are very very low. Do I have this right ?

    1. Hi Dave, sorry for the delay in getting back to you. The kitchen that uses gluten – to bake breads and such – is connected to mine. We share the same dishwasher, but not any other equipment. However, I also am using Bob’s Red Mill Oats, which I’ve heard is an issue for Celiacs. I hope that helps.

      Thank you!

  5. Long time supporter, and thought I’d drop a comment.

Your wordpress site is very sleek – hope you don’t mind
me asking what theme you’re using? (and don’t mind if I steal it?
    :P)

I just launched my site –also built in wordpress like yours– but the theme slows (!) the
    site down quite a bit.

In case you have a minute, you can find it by
searching for “royal cbd” on Google (would appreciate any feedback) – it’s still in the works.

Keep up the good work– and hope you all take care of yourself during the
    coronavirus scare!
